Overall this has been a great addition to my ski gear, in addition to the matching top shell. The bib is a true shell, it excels at what it's designed to do, keep moisture and wind out. I pair this with fleece bottoms and poly base layer, keeps me cool while on the slopes while not getting too cold. I've also found that my temperature stays pretty consistent regardless of how windy it is on the slopes, which is a testament to its construction. I do find the straps of the bib to slip off the shoulders more often than I care for, and I do wish it was a true bib that came all the way to the pecs instead of being essentially a high waist pant-- that being said I still think its the best bib in my collection and overall I still give it a 5/5.

The fabric is wonderful. As waterproof as can be for a 4 way stretch ski pant. I love how I can move in the fabric. I've worn these pants over a dozen times in any and every condition of wind-snow-sleet-rain. I've enjoyed the performance. Consistent temperature. I have not used the vents yet. The ankle cuffs are reinforced and TOUGH to stand up to sharp edges for sure! Now, my biggest suggestion. PLEASE just make these into a full bib like the prior First Ascent line was. I miss the full bib fit (felt more secure on chest and shoulders) and protection offered regarding wind and snow getting up underneath. I also miss the pockets that the full bibs had. By this I mean the pockets on the actual bib, which are securely and confidently NOT in jeopardy if I fall or smash my thigh against something. Overall acceptable and a very workable ski pant shell. Fabric movement and performance is great.. But lost a star for poor design regarding lack of full bib and a second star for poor pocket location and design.
- Mr_RezGenderHeight 5'9"TypeActivityProsConsMore accurate pictures, please!Dec 24, 2024
The material of these ski pants is high quality and feels great. They offer plenty of pockets and cool features, including the Recco avalanche rescue system, which is a nice touch. However, the fit was too loose for my preference, and in my opinion, these pants are more suitable for snowboarders. This is actually my second pair of Eddie Bauer ski pants that I've returned due to the loose fit (can we have real ski pants Eddie?). I did consider sizing down to reduce the looseness, but there's a snap feature around the ankle and calf area that ultimately made them a dealbreaker for me. This feature consists of a series of buttons on the lower back that allow you to tighten the pants in the boot area. While this feature may be useful for skiers dealing with loose pants, it doesn't look great. From the back, it makes the lower part of the pants appear oddly shaped, which is a visual flaw I couldn't overlook. What's even more frustrating is that this feature isn't shown in any of the product pictures, which feels misleading in my opinion. Cheers.
- TRGenderHeight 6'0"TypeActivityPros FitCons Not Versatile, Poor QualityNoDec 14, 2024
I bought this shell for snowboarding. It is constructed with really light material. The scuff guards are heavy. It is not stretchy. The description fails to mention that the leg zippers are top to bottom with no vent mesh behind. Also "multiple "pockets are only two on front legs. No back pockets no belt loops.
- Millennial Dad | Verified userGenderHeight 5'8"TypeActivityPros FitCons Not VersatileToo long to ship, not insulated, not worth the priceJan 7, 2025
While waterproof this is truly just a "shell" layer that only blocks wind and moisture. Keep in mind when ordering you're going to have to layer significantly to make up for the lack of insulation.
- Ski bum | Verified userGenderHeight 5'10"TypeActivityProsCons Poor QualityToo many changes and not as goodDec 31, 2024
Thigh Pockets are too low anything with weight to it rubs on knee - also - shoulder straps fall off shoulders. Nothing grippy to keep them from sliding off. The prior high end bib was better but the crotch blew out so I tried these. No good. They are going back.
