How to Deal With
Leaking Feathers
All down-insulated garments include a small percentage of feathers. Especially in new garments where the down has not fully settled yet, the sharp quill of a feather sometimes pokes through the fabric allowing the feather to work its way toward the outside of the garment.
This should not affect the insulating properties of your jacket. To return the feather to the inside of the garment and minimize the chance of any of the down escaping, simply pull the feather back through the underside of the fabric and massage the fabric and down underneath. This will cause the “hole” or separation in the fabric fibers to close.
