HIGH FIVES FOUNDATION

HIGH FIVES FOUNDATION

Eddie Bauer Ski Athlete Trevor Kennison

The High Fives Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves athletes living with life-altering injuries, such as spinal cord or traumatic brain injury.

Its founder Roy Tuscany suffered a spinal cord injury while training to become a professional skier in 2006. The injury left his lower body paralyzed and he was told he would never walk or ski again. Roy received financial support from local skiers, community members, and friends to help with medical and rehabilitation costs that were not covered by his insurance, and he was able to hit the slopes again in 2008. Roy was so overwhelmed by the support he had received, that he started the High Fives Foundation in 2009 to help others with similar circumstances.
